EASY DIY WORDPRESS FAQS

I'm a great believer that anyone can build their own website. If you are able to do simple things like copy and paste and know how to use and edit a Word document then you have enough IT skills to build a WordPress website.

Many of my technophobe clients were able to easily update their own websites after following my training. Sometimes they had tried many times to build their own sites without success but with the right training, they found it easy. They were very proud of themselves 😊

If you hate anything IT related with a passion and you are going to hate building your site then you should probably pay a professional.

Yes! You don't have to have any WordPress experience. The WordPress course will take you through step by step.

The videos are deliberately short to give you bite sized chunks that you can use at each step and that you can refer back to whenever you need.

This completely depends on you and how much time you have to spend on it, if you have your copy written, images ready and how big and complex the site is.

You can literally get a site up and running in less than an hour using the free ready made website templates I teach you about. If you are working on your site full time, then your site should be ready to go live in 1-2 weeks.  

The thing to remember is that your site doesn't need to be perfect for you to launch. Striving for perfection is great. However in 15 years of building sites for clients, the clients who have been the most successful are not those who focus on moving an image 3 pixels to the right, but those who get their content written and get their site live. I don't mean that you should rush your site - quite the opposite - but I do see people paralysed by choice and the need for perfection. 

Yes! Starting a business and building a website for the first time is very exciting but it can also be quite lonely (especially at 2am when you're all Googled out!).  We will have a Facebook group that is exclusively for Easy DIY WP members.  You'll be able to chat safely about your website, your business, general business and well being tips and anything at all. Businesses connecting is really important to us and you may even find clients or form business partnerships with other members.

Yes!  You can create as many sales/landing pages as you want and I will provide training on how to do so. No need to pay $90+ a month for landing page software.

The course will include how you can try out WordPress completely free of charge without needing a domain name or hosting. This means that you can try it out before having to think about hosting or buying a domain name. My training will show you how to get started in literally a few minutes with no complex installation and for free!

Once you decide that WordPress is the right tool for you (wise choice!) then you will need a domain name and hosting.

All websites require a domain name. This is your www. In the training I will recommend the company I use because they are fairly priced and reliable but there are so many companies you can use.

You will also require hosting. This is where your website will "live." I will make several recommendations in the training. For a normal site (ie not an e-commerce site with 100k products), these costs will be around $5-$10 a month but they can go up to $30+ a month depending on your requirements.

I love that you're thinking big and actually WordPress is flexible enough to build just about anything.  However it's not realistic for a beginner to start off with such a huge project and it would be advisable to pay a developer to build your project.

There are no hidden costs with the course. At checkout you can choose to buy my SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) course  but there is absolutely no obligation to do so and it will be available to purchase at any time in the future at full price.

You will need to buy a domain name (your www.) which is around $20 a year.

You will also need hosting (where your website will "live"). There is a hosting module in the course and I make recommendations depending on the kind of site you are building. The hosting companies I recommend start from as little as $5 a month.

Everything else can be done for free and the themes and plugins we mention in the course have free versions.

Forever! You can refer back to the course and watch the videos and modules whenever you like, as often as you like.

Because everything is immediately accessible, a refund is not offered. However you can try both the WordPress course and the SEO course free of charge with either the Pro or Elite monthly memberships. This will give you a taster of what's included. If you cancel within the free trial period you won't be charged.

The course is very comprehensive and covers everything you need to build your WordPress site. Even though most of the themes and plugins I will be showing you are free, the developers still provide support (aren't they amazing?!). You will need to wait longer than someone who has paid for the pro plugin (fair enough), but you will get help.
